Community Involvement

Noblesse oblige

“To whom much is given, much is expected.”  Luke 12:48

Southerners from all walks of life are among the most generous people in the world.  Public-spirited people recognize the need for financial support and for volunteering for our churches, schools and colleges, hospitals and other benevolent organizations and causes.  Our Company, our employees and agents rise to the occasion.

Southern Farm Bureau Life believes in giving something back to the community where we have enjoyed so much success. Our hands are extended to help others through the community activities in which we are involved.

Through the company's partnership with Watkins Elementary School in the Adopt-A-School program, Southern Farm Bureau Life provides many learning opportunities for students. Employee volunteers assist classroom teachers with programs such as Reading Buddies, a "one-on-one" tutoring program to boost students' reading skills.

The company encourages participation in an annual fund raising campaign that helps 9 metro-area non-profit charities called SFBLI Cares — and more than 90 percent of the employees participate every year! Annual Thanksgiving and Christmas charity projects also provide opportunities to directly impact the surrounding community.

Volunteers are also encouraged to participate in the company-sponsored Walk for Diabetes, an annual event of the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi. Employees also participate annually in builds for Habitat for Humanity and are active in fundraising efforts for The American Heart Association and The American Cancer Society.

Participation in these activities, as well as numerous others, has gained our company a well-respected name throughout the community.
